Privacy policy

Nudge is operated by Degordons Tech Enterprises, a registered business in Abuja, Nigeria, which also operates Sellnudge. This policy explains what we collect, why, and how to get rid of it. It is written to be read rather than to be safe, so if anything here is unclear, write to us and we will fix the wording.

What we collect

From you

• Your name, email address and password. The password is hashed by our authentication provider and we never see it.
• The automations you create: the keywords you choose, the messages you write, and which of your posts they apply to.

From Instagram, once you connect it

• Your Instagram account ID, username, display name, profile picture and follower count.
• A list of your own recent posts, so you can choose which one an automation runs on.
• An access token, which lets us do the above on your behalf. It is encrypted before it is stored.

About people who comment on your posts

• Their Instagram user ID and username, the text of the comment that matched your keyword, and whether we managed to send them a message.
• If your automation asks people to follow you first, whether Instagram reports that they follow you. We store the outcome of that check, not a copy of their profile.

What we do not collect

• Your existing direct messages. Nudge only sees a message from someone who has just been sent one by an automation of yours, and only the reply to it.
• Comments on posts you have not set up an automation for.
• Anything at all from accounts you have not connected.
• Payment details. Nudge is free at present and we do not take card information.

Why we collect it

To do the one thing the product does. A comment has to be read to know whether it matched your keyword, and a person has to be identified to be sent a reply. The activity log exists so that when something does not arrive, you and we can see why instead of guessing.

We do not sell data, we do not share it with advertisers, and we do not use the content of your messages or your commenters’ comments to train anything.

Who else sees it

Three services, each doing one job: Supabase stores the database and handles logins, Vercel runs and hosts the application, and Meta receives the messages we send on your behalf because that is where Instagram lives. Nobody else.

How long we keep it

• Your account and automations, until you delete them.
• Activity records, for 90 days, then removed automatically.
• Unanswered follow prompts, for 7 days.
• Your Instagram access token, until you disconnect Instagram or delete your account, at which point it is deleted immediately.

Your rights

You can disconnect Instagram at any time in Settings, which deletes the token and every automation attached to it. You can delete your whole account and everything in it from the data deletion page. You can also email us and ask for a copy of everything we hold about you.

Nigeria’s Data Protection Act applies to us, and we treat requests under it seriously and without charge.

Children

Nudge is for businesses and creators and is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly hold data about children.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that affects what we collect or who sees it, we will email you before it takes effect rather than quietly changing the date at the top.
